- Less than 48 hours’ notice — A rescheduling fee of 50% of your course fee applies.
- Same-day cancellation or missed course — Your seat is forfeited and the course must be rebooked at the regular course fee.
Please note that arriving late to class may be considered a missed course, in which case your seat will be forfeited.

*Note that Toronto First Aid is not responsible if a participant registers for the wrong course. We can advise based on your needs, however it is ultimately the responsibility of the participant to confirm their course requirements with their school, employer or governing body.
Please be aware that once a certificate is issued, it is not possible to make changes or upgrade it. Therefore, if you register for the incorrect course and do not inform us of the required change prior to your certificate being issued, you will need to register for the new course for the full fees in order to attain an additional certification. Please always double check your requirements before booking.
If you suspect that you are registered for the wrong course, please contact us immediately.
Are your courses WSIB approved?
Yes! We are a training partner with the Canadian Red Cross, which is a WSIB approved provider. We offer the following WSIB approved courses:
Please ensure that you select the correct course as required by your organization in order to meet your specific WSIB requirement (e.g. Standard First Aid). Always confirm your requirements with your employer or governing body.
Can I take a Recertification course?
To qualify for a recertification course, you must bring proof of your current, valid certification to class. Your instructor will verify your certificate before training begins.
Your certificate must:
- Have the same title as the recertification course you are attending
- Be current and not expired
- Be issued by a recognized Canadian affiliate
Only certificates issued by the following organizations are recognized for Recertification:
- Canadian Red Cross
- Lifesaving Society
- Canadian Heart & Stroke
- St. John Ambulance
- Canadian Ski Patrol
Certificates issued by other organizations or affiliates, such as St. Mark James, are not recognized for recertification courses.
If you arrive to class with an invalid, expired, or unrecognized certificate, you will be required to upgrade to the regular course and pay the difference in fees. You may also be required to reschedule your training date, in accordance with applicable Canadian Red Cross and WSIB requirements.
Please ensure your certification meets all of the requirements above when registering for a recertification course.
Can I bring someone else with me to class?
e.g. a family member, friend, child, care aid, translator, interpreter etc.
Yes, as long as the individual meets the minimum age required and has paid for a seat in the class, they are welcome to join you in the training.

Are all of your classes confirmed?
Most of our courses run as scheduled, however Toronto First Aid reserves the right to cancel a course in the event of low enrolments or due to an unforeseen emergency.
In the event that a class is cancelled, participants will be provided alternative rescheduling options.
I'm running late for my class. Can I still attend?
You must attend your full course as scheduled in order to meet the Red Cross program requirements to receive your certificate.
Toronto First Aid allows a 10 minute grace period for latecomers, however please note that studio doors will be closed after this time limit.
If you arrive after the grace period, you will be required to call the office to reschedule your class to a new date. Our standard rescheduling fees apply.
I've completed my training, when will I get my certificate?
Your certificate will be emailed to you from the Red Cross within 1-3 business days of completing the full course curriculum. Please check your junk and spam folders for your certificate if you have not received it in your main email inbox. If you cannot find the emailed certificate, you can also login to your Red Cross account and navigate to My Profile > My Certifications. If you have lost your certificate, please email us with your name, order number, date and location that you took the course.
For Mask Fit Testing, certificates are issued as a physical copy by your instructor, immediately at the session. Please take a photo of it to preserve a digital record for yourself.
