FAQ

Zero Tolerance Policy

We have a Zero Tolerance Policy for abuse and aggressive behaviour. Any aggression or abuse directed towards our staff will not be tolerated. In the event of such behaviour, we reserve the right to cease further communications, refuse entry, and forfeit your booking without compensation.

What is your cancelation and rescheduling policy?

We have a strict no refund policy as there are many fees associated with our partners for each booking. However, we would be happy to reschedule your course or hold a credit on file if you provide us with at least 3 days notice from the date of your training. The credit has no expiry date and will be kept on file until used, and may also be transferred to another person.

For reschedule requests with 2 days notice (or less) from the date of your training, a rescheduling fee of 50% of your course fee applies. Please note that if you cancel the day of your training or miss your course without notice, your seat will be forfeited and you must rebook your course to attend on a new date.

3 days notice or more = no fee to reschedule
2 days notice or less = 50% fee to reschedule
Same-day notice or missed course = seat forfeited and must be rebooked
***Note that if you are late to class you may not be able to attend the training and will be considered as having missed the course

Are you WSIB approved?

Yes! We are a training partner with the Canadian Red Cross, which is a WSIB approved provider. All participants who complete a course with Toronto First Aid will receive a Canadian Red Cross certificate.

Which First Aid courses do you offer?

We offer a number of courses for different occupational requirements including First Aid & CPR courses, CPR only courses, and Basic Life Support courses, in addition to N95 Mask Fit Testing. See our Register Here page to see our full range of courses.

Not sure what course to take?

Please visit this helpful page outlining Ontario provincial First Aid requirements by industry. *Please note that Toronto First Aid will not be held responsible if a participant registers for the wrong course. We can advise based on your needs, however it is ultimately the responsibility of the participant to confirm their course requirements with their school, employer or governing body.

I'm running late for my class - can I still attend?

You must attend your full course as scheduled in order to meet the program requirement to receive your certificate. We allow a 10 minute grace period for latecomers, however, please note that studio doors will be closed after this time limit. If you arrive after the grace period, you will be required to call the office to reschedule your class to a new date. Our standard rescheduling fees apply.

What should I do if I think I have Covid-19 or have symptoms?

For the safety of the instructors and all other students in the class, please call or email us immediately if you are experiencing Covid symptoms in the days leading up to your class, and the Main Office will help guide you through next steps.

I've changed my mind. Can I get a refund?

Toronto First Aid has a strict no refund policy as a lot of effort goes into planning our courses and scheduling our instructors. However, if you contact us at least 3 calendar days in advance of your training we would be more than happy to reschedule you to another convenient day, or hold a course credit for you.

I've completed my course, where can I find my certificate?

Your certificate will be emailed to you from the Red Cross within 1-3 business days of completing the full course curriculum. Note that if you are taking a Blended course, you must have also completed the online course to receive your certificate.

If you cannot find the emailed certificate, please check your junk/spam folder or login to your Red Cross account by following the instructions here and then navigating to "My Profile -> My Certifications".

If you have lost your certificate, please send us an email with your name, order number, date and location that you took the course and we will look into re-sending a soft copy of your certificate within 3-5 business days.

Can I take a Recertification course?

In order to qualify for a recertification course, you must bring proof of your current valid certification to class as your instructor will be checking. The certificate must hold the same title, must not be expired and must be issued by a recognized affiliate within Canada. These partners are limited to the Canadian Red Cross, Life Saving Society, Canadian Heart & Stroke, St John's Ambulance and Ski Patrol only. Other partners such as St. Mark James do not apply.

Can I pay with cash or cheque?

We only accept credit/debit card payment over the phone or credit/debit/Paypal on our website. Our training centres and our instructors do not have the resources to accept cash payments.

Can I drop in to a class without making a booking?

All of our classes must be booked ahead of time either online or over the phone, and paid for in advance. Many of our classes are filled to capacity and there is a limit to how many students can be certified at one time.

Can I bring someone else with me to class? (e.g. a family member, friend, child, care aid, translator, interpreter etc).

Yes, as long as the individual meets the minimum age requirement of 16 and has paid for a seat in the class, anyone is welcome to join you to training.

Can I make a booking for more than one person at a time?

Absolutely! If you would like to make a group booking in one of our regular classes, please get in touch with us to check our availability.

We are also available for corporate and large group bookings. If would like us to come to your workplace or facility, visit our on site training page to make a request.

What is a class merge?

Most of our courses run as scheduled, however, if an instructor is sick or enrollment is low, we may have to reschedule the class or combine the class with a group running on another date.
